Kuraray announced that it would raise the global price of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) resin from October 1, which is the first time that the product has announced price increases since April this year.

According to the data, PVB products have high light transmittance, good flexibility, impact resistance, tensile strength and other properties, and are widely used in the downstream, involving multiple application scenarios such as automobile, photovoltaic, aviation, architecture, light industry, textile and electronics.

In recent years, driven by the development of downstream industries such as photovoltaic, the market demand for polyvinyl butyral continues to rise, which may also be an important reason for this price increase.

The regulations and specifications require PVB film used in BIPV field. Due to the long production expansion cycle of EVA and the localization of POE particles still waiting for time, PVB film is expected to supplement the shortage of adhesive film particles in the centralized photovoltaic field, and it is expected to rapidly expand in the distributed and centralized photovoltaic fields in the future.
